A new work that melds classicism with modernity

Acclaimed Montreal-based contemporary dance troupe BJM Danse head to Pittsburgh as part of their 2017 touring engagement. Presenting the frenetic science-inspired Kosmos, Andonis Foniadakis' work is an exploration into the release of tension and uncertainty, unrestrained joy that is unaffected by todays stresses and uncertainties. A counterbalance to the isolating hustle and bustle of urban life that can affect individuals, this piece evokes harmony and pure energy of coming together as one to dispel the negativity in everyday life.

Formed in 1972, BJM has grown to be a highly respected contemporary repertory company whose festive and energetic movement works have captured the global imagination, and the appraisal of performance art critics.
