Conrad Tao Debuts New Work With Pitt Symphony Orchestra
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra presents an engaging evening of new music and old classics in the form of celebrated composer and pianist Conrad Tao's new work Pangu for orchestra, Gershwin' Concerto in F and Strauss' Symphonia Domestica. Tao will not be participating in his composition, but will be tickling the ivories in jazz-influenced Gershwin piece. Before the evening closes with Strauss, conductor Leonard Slatkin will be talking through the intricacies of Symphonia Domestica with the audience.
Conrad Tao began his classical career as a child, performing violin and piano at established concerts, recitals and festivals by the tender age of 13, all the while garnering the attention of critics throughout the world. Now the talented 21 year old's intelligent and mature compositions are drawing their praise, and speak of an even brighter future ahead.
