Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra present extracts from Stravinsky's famously Rite of Spring, considered so scandalous at its 1913 Paris premiere that the usually deferential audiences were induced to nearly riot in "a terrific uproar" whilst the orchestra played on. Thankfully, it survived its disastrous premiere and has gone on to become one of the 21st century's most applauded masterpieces, cementing Stravinsky's legacy in concert halls world wide.
