When Walter Washington, a retired police office who was injured in the line of duty receives an eviction notice from his a rent-controlled apartment in New York, he literally has his hands full with a crowded household with his newly released "son", his girlfriend and a recovering addict. Whilst awaiting anxiously for the outcome of his lawsuit with the police department, his life becomes even more chaotic with the arrival of a well-meaning church lady, and an ambitious pair of NYPD officers. Juggling all this action in his disordered apartment, Walter must somehow stay calm and figure out how to move forward, whatever the outcome of his suit.
