A Thoroughly Enjoyable Retro Musical
Rising hemlines, bootleg booze, independent women and jazz music, the roaring 20s had it all! Swing with the best of them and revisit a golden era in the locally produced adaptation of five-time Tony Award-winning retro musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. Debuting on the Great White Way in 2002, the feel-good comedy caper starred Broadway royalty Sutton Foster in her breakout role and ran for over 900 performances.
Filled with musical theatre classics like Gimme Gimme and Forget About The Boy, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the tale of a small-town girl with modern dreams. Mille Dillmont moves to the jazz-soaked streets of New York City to marry for money, not love, but finds her plans are derailed when she meets seemingly penniless paperclip salesman named Jimmy Smith. Amidst mistaken identities and tap-happy song and dance numbers, Millie comes of age and falls in love.
