EXCELLENT!

Drove from OH to Chicago to see this show & definitely no regrets. Whoever casted for this play couldn't have done a better job. The scenery, costumes, & actors were all perfect & actually one of the best shows I've seen. I definitely recommend this show to all ages!

GREAT PLAY

We took our son and granddaughter to this play as a Christmas gift. She loved it and we loved it. It was a great time! The cast was excellent.

DELIGHTFUL AND GREAT FUN!

The characters, costumes, and sets were captivating!! This performamce is ageless! We attended the performance with my parents, who are in their 80s and they laughed all the way through the show. Having the story narrated by Max, the dog, was unusually entertaining! This show provided a nice alternative to seeing the Nutcracker again this year!

SUPERB

What a wonderful production! The sets seemed to taken straight from the movie. Loved the interaction between the performers and audience.

GOOD SHOW AND A LOT OF FUN!

My husband took me to How the Grinch Stole Christmas for my birthday. As anticipated their are a lot of kids at the show. Go to the latest evening show if you want to avoid some of the kids. I saw quite a few 3 and 4 year old children who didn't have a clue as to what was going on. I think a waste considering the cost of tickets but to each their own. Big, beautiful costumes, fun songs, large sets, a lot of Razzle Dazzle which I like in a theater production. The 9 year old girl next to me turned on her cell phone half way through the show. I was just about to tell her to turn it off when she turned it off. The show stays true to the story. As another parent mentioned the show gives away the fact that your parents are Santa Claus!! Not good. We enjoyed the show. Get tickets down front sit back and be entertained.

ADORABLE, AMAZING!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this show, as did the children in the theater. It was fun for all ages. I was impressed by the quality of the performance, and the actor of the Grinch himself blew me away! He was engaging, funny, and talented!! This was such a fun night, I’d highly recommend it. :)

AMAZING!!

I saw this show a few years ago at the St. James Theater and (because it was so much fun!) had to go back this year at MSG. I'm still blown away by how well done it is. They really bring the entire "Whoville community" to life in a modern and thoughtful way without ever sacrificing the original intent of the adorable Dr. Seuss methodology. I left the theater humming "You're a Mean One!" Don't miss this show this year!! Although it should be a perennial favorite, who knows when it will play NYC again?? (PS where's the cast recording!?!?!?!) HB

OK

Definitely a cute show for kids under the age of 10. The sets were beautiful and the story very close to the book. The advertised run time was 90 minutes and we were out of the theater within 75 minutes. My only complaint is the price. $85 for 65 minutes of theater seems overpriced. We ate at Rustic Kitchen after. Excellent meal!

BAD SOUND LESSENED THE EXPERIENCE -12/8/2021

Not sure if it was only the front rows but sound was awful. There was a reported sound issue that they were working on before the doors opened but don't believe is was fixed. We were in Row D and couldn't understand most if not all words/songs. Only The Grinch was clear enough and sadly Cindy Loo Who was barely understandable. Great costumes and fun evening but need better acoustics.

GOOD SHOW FOR KIDS UNDER 10

Worse show ever. The theater nothing we can do about it. It's what it is. Was this a real Broadway show?

BEST SEEN FROM THE EYES OF AN 8 YEAR OLD.

My kids are in their 20's but we always watched the cartoon and Jim Carrey versions of the Grinch. We thought it would be a fun evening to go see the Grinch at the Wang, have a cocktail, dinner and a show. First off, it is definitely written to be entertaining to 8 year olds, no "adult" humor here. It feels as if the story is more about how badly Max (the dog) is treated by the Grinch. Most of the characters are not very memorable, the Grinch role is spiritedly done but again best viewed as an 8 year old. The set pieces are done in appropriate style but seem like they are no better than a good high school's version, i.e. pretty simplistic. The Wang is beautiful and should be visited at some point, but save your money - and your 80 minutes - for a different show....unless you are 8 years old.

WOULD HAVE LEFT...

We saw this at the Winspear in Dallas. If our seats hadn’t been right in the center of about 40 seats, or if there had been an intermission, our family would have definitely left before it was over. The Whos’ singing was almost unbearable. I looked over to see my daughter (who loves stage productions) with her fingers in her ears during one of the numbers. Some of the scenery was fun, but so much of it was lacking and forgettable. I applauded at the end, but it was simply out of relief that is was finally over. :( So disappointed that we spent the time and money to attend this show.

DISAPPOINTED:(

The actual Grinch song wasn’t even played. Max looked nothing like Max. The Grinch didn’t look anything like the Grinch except for his hands. Where was the T traditional Grinch BIG belly?? We also would like to know why the Grinch had NO Grinch face? He didn’t seem as mean as the traditional Grinch and the Whoville people, didn’t have anything really distinct, including the little girl, she didn’t look like the traditional Cindy. I wanted to surprise my daughter, instead I’m deflated! How the Grinch Stole Christmas alright, more like, How Belk Stole Our Money & Time! First time watching a play in Charlotte, don’t think I’ll be coming back any toy soon.

THE WORST!

This show was HORRIBLE. It is, without a doubt, the worst live performance I have ever seen. I would sit through Tarzan (the 2nd worst live show I have ever seen) a 100 times before I would watch this mess again. The musical score is forgettable as are the sets. The elder dog character is poorly done. I could not believe the amount of people that were complaining about the show upon its completion. People were walking out and my 6 year old begged to leave. What a mess! I would not recommend this show to anyone. Great dinner at Becco afterwards though.

PARENTS BEWARE!

We took a family vacation to Nashville in hopes of creating a magical Christmas holiday. Little did we know that this show would destroy the magic of Christmas for our two boys. This show has a scene that reveals that parents are actually Santa. In the middle of the show my child said "You are really Santa?".This show took away the magic of Santa for my kids.

1.0 star rating Kate from Denver, Colorado

SO BORING!

Maybe one of the worst shows I’ve ever been to.... very expensive and not worth the money.

1.0 star rating Lane from Vancouver, British Columbia

MY EARS HURT

I’m not the biggest fan of musicals, but my wife really wanted to see this. She wanted to leave almost immediately. The sound levels are horrible. The cast was way too high pitched and the horns drowned everything out and gave my wife a headache. I couldn’t make out any lyrics, just a bunch of high pitched noises.

1.0 star rating Kaitlin B from Vancouver, British Columbia

HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL PRODUCTION

I couldn’t believe how much we paid for what it was. We got the cheapest seats and it was still $88 each. The show was boring overall. Was expecting a lot more for what we paid. I honestly zoned out for most of it and was relieved when it was over.
