MARCUS KING BAND
Over 2 1/2 hrs of non stop outstanding entertainment!!!! Marcus King is SRV back from the dead. High energy outstanding in multiple categories (Blues, Rock, Soul, Country). Over the last 18 months Marcus' voice has really matured. They are the next best kept secret, hope they stay humble as they are now....If you were gonna go you should have gone. I would consider traveling to see him again if he isn't back in Chi-town soon.

SOUND BOARD INCOMPETENCE
Feb 9 Vancouver. I must say the I was stoked to be going to see Marcus and his band. I’ve seen all the YouTube and bought three records. However, I was extremely disappointed with the sound engineer. Usually, the sound is best right beside the engineer and his/her sound board. Not so last night. I moved around the venue trying to find a sweet spot but there were none. There was no separation of instruments apparent in the sound. Marcus’ guitar solos were obscured almost completely when the full band was going. His great voice was even muddled. The band put out a long solid show, it’s a shame the sound engineer needed to read his smart phone messages while I stood beside him wondering why he wasn’t trying to improve. It’s was as if the band were all being projected from one monitor. Flat. No single performer stepping out of the mix at all, all night long. Marcus you work too hard to have this kind of incompetence mark your shows. Look forward to another visit with a better sound person.

Sound was way off. Too distorted, too loud, and pitchy. Amazing musician too bad it wasn’t dialed in.

WANTED TO HEAR THE MARCUS KING BAND
I went to see and hear the Marcus King band at the theater of the Living Arts last night Tuesday December 10th. I saw the band but what I heard sounded like a high school band in a gymnasium. The sound was very poor! I saw two horn players but never heard a single horn sound all night. The bass player sounded like he was playing at 11. Marcus Kings guitar playing and vocals were very distorted and muddy sounding. And while we're on the subject the theater of the Living Arts apparently doesn't care about the people since they packed in way more people than the venue could hold. I can't blame the lack of care from theater of the Living Arts on Marcus King but if Marcus wants his fans to enjoy the concert he needs to address the sound issue.
