Set in New York City, this thrilling re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, star-crossed lovers from rival gangs, West Side Story is a landmark modern musical that continues to entertain, with a collection of standards that includes Tonight, America, Maria, I Feel Pretty and Somewhere, it is widely regarded as one of the best ever written, and marked Sondheim's Broadway debut as a lyricist.
