Pittsburgh CLO present their debut production of Disney's Broadway smash Newsies. Inspired by true events, and based on the Disney movie from 1992, Newsies is the story of the Newspaper delivery boys who made their own headlines. Set on the cobbled streets of 1899 New York, this high-kicking musical follows a group of rebellious newsboys who decide to strike after publishing baron Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices.
Debuting on Broadway in 2012, Newsies won two Tony Awards for its score and stunning choreography. Bursting with old-fashioned Broadway flair, classic numbers ('Seize the Day,' 'King of New York') and a cast full of plucky kids, Newsies is a headline-grabbing show for all the family.
