A joyful piece of romantic music
Why see Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra - Brahms' Third?
Brahms' Colorful Third
Join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with conductor Manfred Honeck, as he leads the orchestra through a rousing performance of Johannes Brahms' marvelous third symphony. A gorgeous entry in the Romantic orchestral canon, the piece was composed in the summer months of 1883, with the rich colors of the season evident in the depth and charm of the piece.
The program also includes renowned cellist Gautier Capucon making his debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony, performing a fabulous rendition of Dvorak's popular Cello Concerto, as well as Lyric for Strings by George Walker, the first ever African American Pulitzer Prize-winning composer. A splendid time with the PSO!
