The prolific composer joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for a divine evening
With eight Grammy awards, three Oscars, 48 top ten hits and nine number ones, it's safe to say that Burt Bacharach is one of the most prolific and beloved composers of our times. Don't walk on by your chance to experience his divine works when he joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for this special evening taking us through his finest hits.
Collaborating with lyricist Hal David, Bacharach provided the likes of Dusty Springfield, The Carpenters and Dionne Warwick with many of their biggest hits through the 60s and 70s, and his unique arrangements, heavily reliant on jazzy atmosphere and fuglehorns, became known as the 'Bacharach sound'. Among his many classic tunes are 'Walk On By', 'I Say A Little Prayer', 'The Look of Love', 'What's new Pussycat?', 'Reach Out', '(They Long to Be) Close To You', and, of course, 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head'.
